Slogans

As a Solutioneer I have two simple slogans that I have posted on my wall to remind me about getting things done. They are simple and to the point. The first is from Nike who I personally hate for a number of reasons but I do like their slogan. I recommend putting up these or other slogans up for you to see and inspire you. It works.

JUST DO IT.

The other slogan that I have is also "stolen", but this time not from a corporation but from the British Special Forces unit: "The Special Air Service" or S.A.S. Like all Special Forces units (such as the U.S. Green Berets and the former Canadian Airborne Regiment) they are trained to be able to deal with various situations and be creative in their approach to solving problems. The S.A.S slogan is:

WHO DARES WINS

I really like this slogan because it encourages you to just TRY SOMETHING and by doing this it gets over the paralysis that so many people face. Perhaps that could be MY slogan: DO SOMETHING or DO ANYTHING. Another slogan you see alot around is a very good one for Solutioneers:

Think Globally. Act Locally.

It is an excellent statement as well. I wrote in the Bucky Fuller newsgroup (bit.listserv.geodesic) that I thought if Bucky wrote about this along his lines of taking the whole Universe view first he would write: "Think Globally. Act Globally." which I believe sums up alot of his approach to Solutioneering. (Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Scientist-wise). I wrote that I prefer the slogan: "Think Globally. Act." because that gets you to at least DO SOMETHING. I would be keen to know what others use as slogans or their thoughts about this. Please e-mail me at: paton_bill@hotmail.com
