An interesting piece of trivia is a Marconigram Message which he sent to his wife. Below is some information about it. I have written the company and they say that it is clearly written "Pleaderhead" on the ledger sheet, but as the address is the same and there were only two "Ed" survivors, it seems clear this is from him.
THE R.M.S. TITANIC SIGNALS ARCHIVE
| In 1992 the collector's contact became
the owner through a Christie's Maritime sale of a collection of Marconigram
signals directly connected with the disaster. They are on the original
signal pad forms of the Marconi International Marine Communication Company,
Ltd., and Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company of America. It is the
private Marconigrams (a number in their own handwriting) from Titanic survivors
to relatives and friends telling them that they were safe on board the
rescue vessel Carpathia, that paint a most poignant personal picture and
unique record of the magnitude of the disaster.
The signal traffic was so heavy that time did not allow the Carpathia’s wireless operator to transmit them all before the ship arrived with the survivors in New York--these are marked "NOT TRANSMITTED". In late April of 1912, the signals were pasted onto
ledger sheets, either one on one side of the page (hereafter called "Singles")
or one on both sides of the page (hereafter called "Doubles") that made
up the evidence book used at the British Enquiry into the disaster which
took place 2 May to 3 July, 1912. The inked numbers on the ledger sheets
enable them to be readily identified in the book Titanic: Signals of
Disaster.
Double Signals (Transmitted and Non-Transmitted) US $3,850.00 Single Signals (Available in Non-Transmitted only) US $2,000.00 All Marconigrams listed below are subject to prior sale. All prices include express shipping and handling and letter of provenance from the author of Titanic: Signals of Disaster. Removal of marconi forms from ledger sheets is available through a highly regarded professional paper conservator for approximately $65.00 per form. Note: Photocopies (color when available)
of any available "single" or "double" marconigram will be provided to the
serious inquirer upon request. The collector has also offered the removal
of marconigrams from ledger sheets from a professional paper conservator
if the purchaser so desires for a nominal fee of $65.00 per form.
